Joseph Frederick Allen is New York City creative. He is Founder & Creative Director of 12345678901– an arts & culture incubator that develops new theatre, media & visual art.

Joseph is a director & associate. Projects include: And Just Like That (HBO MAX); Cecilia Gentili’s RED INK (Off-Bway, Edinburgh Fringe Festival), which was awarded a Special Recognition at the 26th GLAAD Media Awards & named as one of Vogue’s 10 standout acts; Drama Desk Nominee The Jonathan Larson Project (Off-Bway, Orpheum Theater); North Shore Music Theatre; The Straw Hat Revue; other NYC: Music That Made Me; Computer Room Lip Sync; Farewell to the West.

As a writer, Joseph was commissioned to pen the feature film PaJaMa, which tells the origin story of the mid-century photography trio of the same name. His play, The Eulogy Approach, premiered at Theatre Row & was featured as NY1's Pick of the Week. His follow up play, Jackson’s Island: Huck, Tom, Queers and Us is in development & has starred Tony Nominee Justin Cooley, James Scully, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Jordan Dobson & Emmet Smith. He won Broadway’s Merrily We Roll Along Rooftop Writers Initiative, with The Jonathan Larson Grant & the Stephen Sondheim Foundation, for his song Something to Believe In. He wrote & starred in the digital short series Nice Guys (Finish Last). Joseph was research assistant to writer Kate Wetherhead & is an associate of the Dramatist Guild. He has also written for Gay Times.

Joseph holds a Masters in Arts Administration from Baruch College & a BFA in Musical Theatre from Penn State.
